Joshua Hill aka p0sixninja, veteran jailbreak developer has opened the OpenJailbreak for the general public. OpenJailbreak is not a jailbreak for an idevice rather it’s an open source project that's targeted towards developers and hackers to contribute in making a jailbreak for Apple devices. Joshua's goal is to keep jailbreaking "sustainable for future generations". I don't know if he's talking about generations of iPhone or humans as humans can survive without a jailbreak :). Anyway, hit the jump and read on what Joshua Hill's been up to.

What is Open Jailbreak?

As of yet, OpenJailbreak.org website is still developing and doesn't contain much projects but Joshua Hill has assured that this will be turned into a full-fledged community with wikis and other portals and much more projects. OpenJailbreak will also contain open source code of the Greenpois0n and Absinthe jailbreaks that were used to exploit iOS 4 and 5 respectively.

The main motive behind this project is to get the entire jailbreak community to contribute to the development of jailbreaks and iOS exploits. This will ensure that jailbreak remains alive and the developers can churn out these tools in the future also.
