MuscleNerd, a veteran iOS hacker and developer, has tweeted that no exploit has been detected in A5+ bootrom devices. This means that there will be no jailbreak available for these newer devices like iPad mini or iPhone 5. Why bootrom exploits are important is, they make a device permanently jailbreakable and Apple can’t fix them by firmware updates. The prolific developer who has contributed immensely to the jailbreak community has hanged up his boots this time. Hit the jump and take a look at the tweet from his official handle.

no a5 exploit

This comes a a major shock to the entire jailbreak community because without the possibility of a bootrom exploit, the chances of having a jailbreak for all A5 and other newer devices will be very slim.

MuscleNerd, unlike other people, is still very optimistic and is quite sure that he and his team members will have this worked out and give us a working solution very soon. For those of you who don't know, MuscleNerd is the frontman of iPhone Dev Team and also a core member of the evad3rs team, that designed evasi0n, the most popular jailbreak tool in the history (it was used by over 14 million users).

Is this the end of jailbreaking ?

What say you, is this the sad end of jailbreaking or will some hacker develop a shiny new tool very soon. Drop your thoughts in the comments section below.
