Call it crazy or whatever, Apple has just released a new iOS 6.1.4 firmware and that too only for the iPhone 5. This firmware bring no new features to your devices except an updated audio profile for the speakerphone and has a petite size of just 11.5 megabytesAs far as availability is concerned, iOS 6.1.4 is available for both the GSM and CDMA variants of iPhone 5 and can be downloaded using OTA (over the air) update in the Settings app. It's a pretty useless sort of an update there's no good reason around to install it on your idevice. If you don't want to use OTA, use the direct download link below.

After downloading from the direct download links above for your particular device, you can easily install this update using iTunes without any hassles.

All those who are not updating, better gear up for the whole new iOS 7 which Apple will be previewing at the WWDC 2013 conference. The next iteration of the Apple's firmware will be killing skeuomorphism and other shiny UI (user interface) elements and will give it a much flatter interface.

One piece of advice for the jailbreakers, keep your hands off 6.1.4 because it will kill your existing jailbreak. Moreover, newer bootrom devices (A5 and above) are currently un-jailbreakable even with redsn0w tool.
