Two days ago, we told you that the new tweaked Apple TV 3,2 comes with a die-shrunk A5 chip instead of an A5X chip. Chipworks has examined the new Apple TV 3,2 and confirmed that the smaller A5 chip has been manufactured by Samsung. This chip measures just 6mm by 6mm and is reportedly being used by Apple as a test for its new low-cost iPhone. See the pictures of the new die-shrunk A5 chip after the jump.

This flip flop led had the rumor mills on fire as Apple was said to replace Samsung with TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) due to the increasing tensions between the two heavyweights in the market with their smartphones iPhone 5 and Galaxy S3 giving fierce competition to one another.
