It seems Apple has miserably failed to beef up the security for its flagship iOS 7 firmware update as even non-developer users are easily and successfully able to update to iOS 7 without any issues. Now to make matters worse for Apple, you can easily downgrade 7 to 6.1.3/4 despite Apple stating in its changelog that this firmware can not be restored to previous firmware versions.

The main advantage of this method is does n ’t require saved SHSH blobs as in the case of earlier firmwares and everything is very straight forward and simple.

Stuff needed

  • iTunes 11.0.4
  • 6.1.3/6.1.4 firmware
  • Computer running Windows or Mac OS X
  • iDevice
  • USB cable
