According to a report by Forbes, the latest iteration of the iOS 6 firmware- iOS 6.1.3 beta 2 is going patch and completely break the evasi0n iOS 6 untethered jailbreak. The evad3rs dev team core member David Wang aka planetbeing has recieved official confirmation that at least one of the security exploits and vulnerabilities used by evasi0n have been fully patched by Apple. Hit the jump for more insights by popular jailbreak hackers on the issue.

David Wang aka planetbeing points out -- “If one of the vulnerabilities doesn’t work, evasi0n doesn’t work, we could replace that part with a different vulnerability, but Apple will probably fix most if not all of the bugs we’ve used when 6.1.3 comes out.”

According to Wang, iOS 6.1.3 will most probably be released to the general public at the end of March so users could still update to iOS 6.1.2 and jailbreak as Apple will stop signing iOS 6.1.2 for sure.

Moreover, there's one reason to celebrate as Wang says evad3rs have enough exploits stacked up in thier arsenal for developing a whole new jailbreak from scratch which will surely be saved for an even bigger update iOS 7.

How evasi0n threatens security

Many security researchers and iOS hackers have said that exploits used by the evasi0n jailbreak can leave many devices open and highly susceptible to cyber criminals and unethical hackers. The tool utilises 5 major security exploits, all of which can compromise security harm the end user.

F-Secure antivirus researcher Mikko Hypponen says that if a hacker uses a Mac or Windows security vulnerability to compromise a user’s computer, then that criminal can wait for the user to connect an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch and then use evasi0n to hack that device also.

Stefan Essar aka i0n1c says that a hacker could use a exploit to gain unauthorized access to an idevice, install evasi0n tool and keep that secret exploit technique hidden from Apple. Take a look at the tweet below.
