iOS 6.1 release date
As of now Apple has seeded 4 iOS 6.1 betas seeded to its developer circles. It was to be originally released in late-December, but for some unknown reason was delayed till January. We have found out that iOS 6.1 GM could actually be released as early as tomorrow, yes you read it right. If you don't know,  “GM” version is a version that is released publicly.

  I am pretty sure iOS 6.1 firmware doesn’t include a whole lot of new additions. However, it does have the ability to buy movie tickets with Siri using Fandango, enhanced Maps framework for developers and improved iCloud security.

One thing that jailbreakers like me are sure of is after this release, an untethered jailbreak for all idevices will be rolled out pretty soon. As planetbeing, an iPhone hacker  said that he was waiting for its release before he gets the jailbreak ready.
