Heya! jailbreakers, I (d0mino) am covering official evad3rs jailbreak updates here, so brace yourselves. Apple has just released a public iOS 6.1 final firmware. The evad3rs hacking alliance which consists of veteran jailbreak hackers like planetbeing, pimskeks, pod2G and musclenerd, have made a series of updates and announcements about evad3rs jailbreak via their official Twitter handle here. Hit the jump for all the tweets and other info.

evad3rs hacking team have made huge amount of progress for the public version of the highly anticipated untethered jailbreak. However, we do have a reason to be happy enough as they are working very hard to publicly release a full blown public untethered iOS 6.1 jailbreak. This is really good for all of us as it's getting closer and closer. Official release date

All of this flip flop is just a matter of few days from now on and it's already been slated to release on Sunday (Feb-2-2013), if everything turns out as hoped. There is only one question left now when the heck will it be released to the public ? However, the actual release date can go a bit up and down as there is still some stuff left to be taken cv. We present to you the official tweet...


evad3rs jailbreak compatibility

All twenty two variations of Apple’s idevices which are able to install iOS 6.1 are fully
supported. Here is the official list... 
  • iPhone 3GS 
  • iPhone 4 
  • iPhone 4S
  • iPhone 5 
  • iPod Touch 4th Generation
  • iPod Touch 5th Generation
  • iPad 2
  • iPad with Retina Display 3rd and 4th Generation 
  • iPad Mini 
  • Apple TV 2nd Generation
However, 3rd-generation Apple TV will not be supported since the exploit and hack which was used in jailbreaking the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch is not compatible with Apple TV 3G.

 Staying away from OTA 

It is extremely important to keep your hands off of the iOS 6.1 OTA (over the air) update. As evad3rs have pointed out with a tweet as it gives different SHSH blobs than the normal restore made via iTunes. As of now, I recommend you update through iTunes for this very reason. 

Important tip : When you have done updating to iOS 6.1 through iTunes, take a backup of your idevice just to be on the safer side and not lose all of your important data and other stuff.

 Fake jailbreak links are spreading around on the internet like wildfire. These scam websites are selling fake software to innocent users and many of them have even ended up paying money to them. Here's an official statement...  


 Some scam twitter handles have also popped up and are also fooling people into buying jailbreaks...
