Apple just previewed their highly anticipated operating system- iOS 7 at the WWDC 2013. The fruit company did announce a few other things as well but iOS 7 took center stage. Tim Cook, CEO, said that iOS 7 is the largest overhaul done to any iOS operating system since its advent in the year 2007. Jonathan Ive, who spearheaded the iOS 7 design department changed and modified the aesthetics of about every possible aspect of the operating system.

You can view the entire changelog of iOS 7 in the official introduction video above. Unlike other WWDC keynotes in the past, Apple previewed the new iOS firmware with a video rather than explaining everything in a presentation-style format.

Changes and Modifications

There are certain key fields and aspects that Jony Ive has completely redesigned, here's a list of them...

  • Control Center
  • Notification Center
  • Multitasking
  • iTunes Radio
  • Photos
  • AirDrop
  • Camera, Safari
  • Siri
  • Mail
  • Weather
  • Messages.
However, there were other small changes to this firmware update which Apple refrained from talking about due to the duration of the event. Here's a quick overview of those applications which have been redesigned and modified. Just as BlackBerry offered an interactive preview of their BlackBerry 10 firmware, Apple has also put up an dedicated iOS 7 page along similar lines where you can play around with all of the screens below.
