Samsung has just announced its highly anticipated Galaxy S4 smartphone at the New York City official unveiling event. As far as the design is concerned, it looks just like its predecessor- Galaxy S3, without even a single improvement in aesthetics. It is 136mm long, 69mm wide, 7.9mm thin and weighs 130 grams. Unlike the iPhone, it looks like all the leaks we posted few days earlier, featured an exact replica of this smartphone. However, this still remains unknown why Samsung Exynos 5 Octa processor, the world’s first octa-core mobile processor isn't being offered in every region. What I think, Samsung wants to release a relatively low-cost Galaxy S4 with a quad-core processor in emerging economies like India or offer both variants at different prices.

Cool new features

Whole new features like smart scrolling, smart pause, s health and air view have been inlcuded in this device. 

Smart scrolling : Allows you to tilt the device to scroll up and down

Smart pause : Automatically pauses a video when you look away from the screen

S Health :  Tracks your steps, stairs climbed, temperature, humidity extent, food intake and estimates calories consumed and burned 

Air View / Air Gesture : Switches between tracks on your hovering gesture

KNOX : A Mobile device management technology that lets you keep work and play separate on the phone

S Translator : A built-in translation service that allows voice to voice translation  

Group Play : Allows up to 8 devices to directly connect via NFC for sharing photos, music, and even enjoy games together.

Release Date 

Samsung Galaxy S4 will be available in the second quarter of 2013, that is, around May-June to compete with Apple's iPhone 5S. Samsung will launch it on 357 carriers worldwide with full support for LTE mobile networks like AT&T, Verizon and others. 

UJB Review

We here at UJB are complete Apple loyalists but when it comes to reviewing a device we are totally unbiased. Regardless, this product will sell like hot cakes thanks to Samsung's marketing efforts and advertisement budget. 

 Although, Galaxy S4 features great improvements over its predeccesor Galaxy S3 but we feel the design and aesthetics could have been made a lot better as it still has those round edges as in every galaxy device. Samsung should have gone off the beat this time and introduced  new, much more square-ish edges.  

Is it really an iPhone 5S killer ? Well that's not so. This smartphone is bound to give fierce competition to Apple iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 too, we have already stated the reason above. But as far as features are concerned, we think all the features are really cool but after you have tried them they seem to become boring and monotonous.
