ios 6.1 lockscreen bug
A whole new iOS 6.1 bug has just popped up which lets you easily bypass the iPhone password lock and access your phone app on iOS 6.1, view and modify your contacts, check the voicemail and view your photos by adding a photo to a contact. This new exploit is discovered by a YouTube user videosdebarraquito. This is laid out as- make and immediately cancel the emergency call and hold down Sleep button twice and you are good to go. This isn't the first time this issue has plagued the fruit company Apple, this bug has previously affected iOS 4.1 as well. The bug is working only on iPhones running iOS 6.1 only not on iPod Touch and iPad as it makes use of the emergency call feature. The Verge has tested and verified the glitch on 2 UK iPhone 5 handsets on iOS 6.1. 

To test this bug on your iPhone running iOS 6.1, follow the instructions given below 


  • Firstly, lock your iPhone by holding the Sleep/Wake button 
  • Press the Home button and make the slide-to-unlock gesture 
  • Tap emergency call once 
  • Hold the Sleep/Wake button until the power down slider comes
  • Tap Cancel 
  • When the status bar turns blue, dial 911 
  • Tap Call and immediately cancel the call
  • Lock your idevice by pressing the Sleep/Wake button
  • Again, turn it on by pressing the Home button
  • Make the slide-to-unlock gesture again
  • Hold the Sleep/Wake button and just after 3 seconds once again tap Emergency Call

  • iMessages
  • FaceTime
  • Contacts
  • Phone app
  • Photos
  • Voicemail
